1^st Eucharist:

• The age for reception of 1^st Eucharist is 3^rd grade. In the Diocese of Fargo, Confirmation and 1^st Eucharist are celebrated by the Bishop at the same Mass.
• Sacramental Preparation book for students: Encounter with Christ: Eucharist; Our Sunday Visitor
• The use of the Parent Handbook for 1^st Eucharist (diocesan curriculum, see order form above or print from PDF below), with a copy provided for all parents and catechists.
• Parent Training Sessions: At least two 2-hour training sessions for parents on Eucharist, distinct from the four hours of catechesis each for Penance and Confirmation.
• Retreat for Children: At least one 3-5 hour retreat concerning Eucharist, distinct from the retreats for Penance and Eucharist, for parents and their children, (sponsors may be invited). Regional or Deanery retreats are commended.
• Interview for child: An interview for each child to assess their readiness and intention. One interview suffices for Confirmation and First Eucharist 
• The above requirements are to be pastorally adjusted for others requesting 1^st Eucharist beyond 3^rd grade.
